Rachel Berg
Soprano - Jackalyn Short Studio
Growing up in the small arts town of Nelson BC, soprano Rachel Berg has been singing all her life. Drawn to classical music through ballet class, musical theatre and choir, she first sang opera with the world premiere of KHAOS (MacDonald). Other ensembles include Der Jasager (Weil) and Zeus and the Pamplemousse (McCune) with the University of Alberta, and L'Elixir d'amore (Donizetti) with the Centre for Opera Studies in Italy. Roles include Miss Wordsworth and Emmie in Albert Herring (Britten) with the U of A, and Suor Dolcina in Suor Angelica (Puccini) with COSI. Having received her Bachelor's of Music at the U of A, Rachel recently started her Masters in Music at the University of Western Ontario. Rachel has a duel love for early music and new Canadian works, and is looking forwards to further these interests at Western.
