Nathon Irving
Bass-baritone - Todd Wieczorek Studio
He’s back again for another round of operatic fun! Nathon Irving is a bass-baritone second-year voice performance major, studying with Todd Wieczorek. Originally from Brampton, Ontario, Nathon’s musical journey began through African-American based gospel music at church at age six. He went on to attend Mayfield Secondary School for the Regional Arts Program, majoring in music. There he began his classical voice training in grade 9 and would continue until graduating in 2016. Nathon’s operatic career began in his first year of undergrad when he was casted as Maestro Spinelloccio in Western University’s production of Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and as a chorus member in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. This year, Nathon is excited to continue being a part of Western’s rich operatic culture, and will be playing Moralés in the faculty’s production of Bizet’s critically acclaimed opera, Carmen; as well Western’s annual opera gala taking place in the spring of 2018.
