Máiri Demings
Mezzo-soprano - Torin Chiles Studio
Máiri Demings is a mezzo-soprano hailing from Springhill, Nova Scotia. In 2017, she graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. While at Acadia she was an active member of Acadia’s Singing Theatre Production Ensemble, playing such roles as Jan in Grease, Olive’s Mom in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Zerlina and Annio in Mozart’s Great Operas. She has also been a soloist in the Acadia Performing Arts Series Tom Regan Memorial Concert, Acadia University Chorus, Parrsboro’s Classics by the Bay, and was the Nova Scotia representative for the 2016 National Music in Edmonton. After graduation, Máiri attend the Halifax Summer Opera Festival where she sang the role of Mercédès in Bizet’s Carmen. She is now working towards her Masters in Vocal Literature and Performance at the University of Western Ontario.
