Francesca Alexander is a young singer from Oakville, Ontario. She is currently in her fourth year of a BMus Honours in Voice Performance at Western University, studying with Rachel Mallon. Francesca started singing with the Oakville Children’s Choir at a young age, and then went on to study voice privately with Norine Burgess. This past summer, Francesca had the incredible opportunity to perform the character of Climene in Cavalli’s rarely performed opera, L’Egisto. She also participated in the Canadian Operatic Arts Academy, where she performed scenes as Gianetta from L’Elisir d’Amore, 2nd Witch and 2nd Lady from Dido and Aeneas, and Virtù from L’incorazione di Poppea. She has also performed various roles in musical theatre, such as Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray. In her spare time, Francesca can be found drinking copious amounts of coffee and doing crossword puzzles.
