Ardavan Taraporewala has collaborated with orchestras and ensembles around the world, including The London Singers, The U.A.E Philharmonic, and the World Zoroastrian Symphony Orchestra. After originating the role of Jack Scott in the Middle East Premiere of Disney’s High School Musical on Stage!, he portrayed Sheikh Francis in the American University of Sharjah’s production of Rahbani’s Saif 840. He has since performed several times with UWOpera, with roles including Betto di Signa in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and the Second Priest in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Ardavan is a two-time recipient of the Board of Governors’ Music Award, amongst others. He has a wealth of stage management experience, and recently orchestrated and served as music director for a local charity concert for the Children’s Cancer Ward of the Indus Hospital, Pakistan. He is thrilled to be portraying Major General Stanley in Gilbert and Sullivan’s hilarious Pirates of Penzance, and wishes to thank his family, friends and teachers for all their guidance and support.
