Setting a Standard for Operatic Performance
The Don Wright Faculty of Music offers our students an extraordinary music-education experience at one of Canada’s most prestigious and picturesque university campuses. Nationally recognized scholars, composers, administrators, teachers, and performers – leaders in Canadian music – engage students in a learning environment equaled by very few institutions.

With over 200 voice majors across Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degree programs, the Western University Opera Workshop mounts two fully staged operas and an opera gala. These experiences are a critical part of the students' educational experience. By providing a forum for promising young artists to learn alongside renowned performers and coaches, we are ensuring the continued longevity of one of the world's most dramatic art forms.
“Thank you for supporting our amazing young singers: 'The future of the arts in our country'.”
Professor Theodore Baerg - Program Director
